FAQ Children
Q: Do you have separate classes for different age groups?
Yes we have three separate age groups: Little Ninjas/Little Dragons ages 3-5. Karate Kids ages 6-10. Achievers ages 11-15.
Q: How many instructors do you have in each class?
We maintain a minimum ratio of one instructor for each six children in class.
Q: How many classes does my child need to attend?
Little Ninjas and Little Dragons attend one time per week. Karate Kids and Achievers attend twice each week.
Q: How many available classes do you have for each age group?
We have at least four classes available for each age group every week. Students can attend any classes they choose each week and can switch their days without notice.
Q: Can my child make up any classes they miss?
Yes we have an open make up policy. Classes can be made up any time during your membership.
Q: What is the experience level of your instructors?
Pace Institute of Karate instructors have over 150 years of combined experience. Shihan Pace alone has been training and teaching well over 40 years.

Q: How many people are in each class?
Typically 10-15 students.
Q: Will there be other beginners in my class?
Yes. We have new students starting each month.
Q: Will your classes help me lose weight?
One of the most important benefits for adults is that regular training will certainly help take off unwanted pounds.
Q: I am not very flexible. Can I still be successful at martial arts training?
One of the important benefits for adults is increasing and maintaining flexibility. Okinawan karate does not require high kicks that some martial arts are known for. We find that anyone can be successful in our programs.
Q: Will I learn practical self defense?
Shihan Pace has developed his own system of self defense over the more than 40 years he has been training and teaching the martial arts. His self defense videos and DVDs have been sold in over 40 countries around the world over the last decade.
Q: Do I need to 'get in shape' before I start my training?
Absolutely not. Our programs are designed to take you from where you are to where you would like to go. You can train at your own pace.
Q: How many classes a week should I expect to train?
We recommend twice a week to obtain the most benefits from our program.
Q: Will I 'tone up' and look and feel better by attending your classes?
Our students look and feel better within a very short time after starting classes. Our class warm-ups, drills, patterns and routines all have muscle building and toning qualities.
